Here, you'll find the city's female gym leader, along with a Pokemon that once provided the light that shone from the lighthouse. However, it's fallen ill. The gym leader begs you to travel across the water to the west to grab medicine from Cianwood City. Agree to do so, and then use the elevator to reach the first floor of the lighthouse, where you can then head back outside and begin your westward journey grab the Super Potion before leaving the top floor!
Unfortunately, you won't be able to earn the gym badge here until you return with the medicine, so sorry to disappoint any anxious gamers out there! So, you've acquired the ability to use Surf, you've climbed the lighthouse at Olivine City, and you learned that the Pokemon that acts as the lighthouse's beacon has fallen ill.
The gym leader of Olivine City implored you to find medicine for the sickly Pokemon at the lighthouse, and that's what we're going to do right now. Once you've done that, you'll then find that you can fight two gym leaders and earn two badges in surprisingly short succession from one another if your Pokemon are strong enough to do so, that is.
For starters, however, you're going to have to travel across Routes 40 and 41, and both of them are entirely water-based. If, for some reason, you don't have any Pokemon that you can use Surf, you better use that Good Rod you just received and start fishing off of the coast of Olivine City.
You should be able to find a Krabby, Magikarp or Corsola that you can teach the powerful move to. Last Edited: 9 Sep pm. You can go straight back to Olivine if you wish, but you will have an easier time if you defeat the Cianwood Gym leader first. In Olivine city, go into the house next to the Pokemon centre and talk to the guy on the right and he will give you HM04 strength.
Travel in a south westerly direction and you should reach land. In Ecruteak City, above the Pokecenter, there is a house. In that house, there is a stage, and on that stage are 5 girls, each with an Eevelution. Defeat them, then talk to the old guy who admits that you are a Righteous trainer, He will give you HM03 Surf. First go to Cianwood City. Then beat the gym leader, whose name is Chuck.
